Today was exactly one week of the milk cure. Can it actually be a week? Well, it has been. We had to take Joel to work this morning. Olivia continued wearing her nightgown, even while laying outside on the front porch this morning while Joel and I planted some trees in the orchard.
After returning form Town, Olivia changed her clothes for the afternoon and started a knitting project of cabled fingerless gloves. She continued to work on the gloves when we went to the Furhmans for piano lessons and more milk. 5 1/2 gallons of milk came home with us. Olivia had to drink some milk right from the jar on the way home that had cream in it. She complained the entire night that the milk tasted like butter. But she finished knitting one glove and I had the car trunk hit me in the bridge of my nose real hard when getting the milk out of the trunk. After a little blood and pain, I got the milk out - having to carry two coolers to the kitchen - with Olivia's help.
Her blood sugar level was at 74 this evening, so she did not take an insulin shot before dinner - the first time in 8 months!
